The Lowdown on Inkswell...
Inkswel holds the torch for those who cannot be pigeon holed. Australian native and worldwide resident.
Residing in a studio - somewhere between Adelaide, Amsterdam. Melbourne and London, his sound traverses vibrations. Crafting creations early on for Rush Hour sub label - Boogie Bash (founded by Dutch don KC THE FUNKAHOLIC). Remixing the likes of Darwin’s Theory (Lotus Land) , Rondenion (Japan) and Maseratay (Brussels).
Increasing the underground energy with his GINSENG ROOT ep on Dopeness Galore, which featured collaborative medicine from Tom Trago & Benny Badge. His most refined and notable release is the recent cult 10" vinyl on cult UK label FIRECRACKER recordings Unthank series, featuring Chico Mann and Funkineven.
In 2013 he also launched his new label HOT SHOT sounds, the debut featuring a new track with Reggie B and a b side jam from his partner in crime FREEKWENCY.
Upcoming movements from Inkswel in 2013 include his AUSTRALABORIALIS ep on FACES & MCDE, a raw collection of unreleased jams created between 2001 and the present, and the upcoming MERWYN & Inkswel EP (Virgo Four) with remixes from Linkwood and GB. The sound holds no boundary.
Track List & Soundclips:
1. Electric Sunshine
4. Tecumseh (Bonus Beats)[Via Rush Hour]
Recloose is back with a state-of-the-art house 12". Two refreshing house tracks on the A side, and a banging heavy one on the B that leans towards electro. 'Saturday Night Manifesto' is his first new output in three years and it is well worth the wait. It starts out smooth and mellow with 'Electric Sunshine', a heartfelt future soul piece. It then moves on to the bumping groove of 'Parquet', a shaker that carries that signature Recloose funk. It closes out the night with 'Tecumseh', a dirt-deadly primetime mover. With 'Saturday Night Manifesto' Recloose delivers a classic EP that reminds us of his 'Spelunking EP
Recloose also has a Serato Colab due out soon as well as a Hit it & Quit it Radio CD release, details to come soon.

Renowned DJ Kon plays Auckland's Rising Sun for the first time Friday 20th August.
Kon embodies the soul of hip-hop. His compilations (with partner Amir) regularly unearth unknown, sometimes unreleased jams and anoint them classics. Kon's DJ aesthetic owes much to his East Coast upbringing in
Boston, Massachusetts, mere hours from New York City, the birthplace of hip-hop. Over a lifetime of collecting, Kon's excavated records are rare classics, pulling from the best in deep funk, soul, jazz, R&B, Latin, reggae, and of course, hip-hop. Over the course of a twelve year career as a club, party and world class DJ, he's toured with likes of Sugarhill Gang, Gilles Peterson, A Tribe Called Quest, J Rocc, KRS 1, Kenny Dope, Pete Rock and ?uestlove. His discography goes eight albums deep and has gained legendary status oversees while achieving domestic recognition from some of the most beloved beat-diggers, DJs, and producers in the game. Lord Finesse has referred to Kon and Amir as "Two of the most extraordinary but underrated beat diggers in the game," and turntable virtuoso A-Trak regard their compilations and mixtapes as underground DJ classics.
Supporting DJ Kon in his Auckland debut is BBE labelmate and HIQI stalwart of style Julien Dyne (Opensouls), the mysterious disco king Frank Booker and the 'Don of Detroit' himself Recloose.
