Groovadelica is back with an international bang. On Friday 29th July, we present the debut NZ performances of two amazing UK DJ/Producers, along with The Groovadelic Orchestra featuring Trya Hammond, Lewis McCallum & Jess Mathews plus local DJ support from DJ Dubhead, Jason Eli & A-Train, all at a brand new, two level Auckland venue. Expect the best in Future Soul, Broken Beat, Latin, Funk, Jazz and Reggae.
Topping the DJ List for the night, IG Culture. Music maker, pioneer of Acid Jazz, creator of Broken Beat. Credits include Slum Village, Theo Parrish, Roots Manuva and many more. IG was at the helm of international award winning London club night The CoOp, which he hosted with 4Hero, Bugz In The Attic and Phil Asher.
Second up, another of the west London music scene’s avant garde, Darren Shredder, who has released music on trendsetting labels like LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking and People Records.
For the fans of live future soul and funk, the seven piece The Groovadelic Orchestra featuring Tyra Hammond, Lewis McCallum, Tommy Stowers & JEM will be heating up the downstairs area. (Band on at 11pm)
And if that’s not enough for you, upstairs you can soak up the Jamaican Shebeen vibes with reggae DJ Dubhead and DJ A-Train.
Also on the night catch your host Jason Eli spinning the Groovadelica signature sounds.
And to top it all off, We’ll give you a free Havana Club Cuban ginger cocktail if you buy an advanced ticket from iticket express, or if you’re one of the first 100 people who pay entry on the night.
All this at a spanking brand new Auckland venue - Atticus (previously Morrison), 63 Fort Street, downtown, with impeccably clean toilets, a smoking area and great staff. How can you refuse all this for $10?
