About TMD Crew:
TMD is a crew that many consider synonymous with New Zealand graffiti art - although their membership spans the globe with Germany’s Can2, Sinae, Atom and Wow123, and Australia’s Sirum and Vans the Omega. Spawned during the Auckland graffiti boom of the mid-90’s, TMD has its origins in West Auckland. Fourteen years on the collectives work is found in every corner of the globe, covering USA, Asia, Europe and the United Kingdom. Despite humble beginnings TMD has battled against the confines of geographical isolation and has emerged as one of the front-runners in the international aerosol art world. About Primary Flight Art:
Basel Miami Beach is the most important art show in the United States. As the sister event of Switzerland's Art Basel, the most prestigious art show worldwide for the past 41 years, Art Basel Miami Beach combines an international selection of top galleries, with an exciting program of special exhibitions and parties, including crossover events in music, film, architecture and design. Exhibition sites are located in the city's beautiful Art Deco District, within walking distance of the beach and many hotels. PRIMARY FLIGHT falls under the umbrella of Art Basel Miami Beach, and is a collaborative curatorial production of site-specific, street level, mural installations. Primary Flight have in the past brought together over 100 of the world’s most influential street artists, to install their bodies of work live in the streets of Wynwood, Florida.
Primary Flight is set to take place from 02 December – 05 December 2010. The main focus of Primary Flight is to provide a catalyst for burgeoning art communities, a goal TMD strongly believe in. With Askew having already broken ground the previous year at this event, and as an incredible opportunity for any artist, the stage is now set for a Kiwi invasion.
