Thomas Wesley Pentz aka Diplo - one half of the production team behind the popular hybrid reggae project Major Lazer, and artist for the Ninja Tune label, lends his eclectic ear and considerable talents as a reggae selector to Riddimentary, a guided tour through 15 classic tracks from the Greensleeves reggae catalogue. “We are excited to announce the latest release from Kieran Hebden’s brilliant TEXT RECORDS… “A two track collaborative twelve inch from Burial + Four Tet + Thom Yorke… “A-side is titled ‘EGO’, AA-side titled ‘MIRROR’. Plain black house bag and black label.Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Four Tet, and dubstep enigma Burial have teamed up for a 12? on Four Tet’s Text record label. A press release notes that both tracks will air tonight, 11:00 p.m. GMT, on UK radio station Rinse FM during Four Tet’s session with UK knob-twiddler Floating Points.
Thom Yorke is the odd one out, having been remixed by both producers yet never working directly with them. Fresh from the artistic success of ‘The King Of Limbs’ the new 12 inch is the latest blast of material the songwriter has been involved in. Meawhile, Four Tet has been in the mood for collaboration recently. Kiren Hebden is working on another 12 inch with Caribou producer Dan Snaith, the results of which are set to drop later this Spring.

UPCOMING: Kode9 & The Spaceape - Otherman / Love Is The Drug (ft Cha Cha) (HYPERDUB)
Due for release April 2011, to pre-order please contact us at info@conch.co.nz
Tracklisting & Soundclips: A. Otherman AA. Love Is The Drug (ft Cha Cha)Otherman’ backed with ‘Love Is The Drug’ is the lead single from Kode9 And The Spaceape's second long player 'Black Sun'. Coming from oblique angles, these two songs introduce the breadth of the album.
‘Otherman’ opens with a sombre, arpeggiated march built from wavering analogue synth drones, lulling the listener until Spaceape's cracked communique interrupts the flow with downtrodden descriptions, wrapped around lop-sided rhythms. Sombre, flatline funk.
‘Love Is The Drug’ features the vocals of Cha Cha, a singer from Shanghai, who guests across four tracks on the album. ‘Love Is The Drug’ is ambiguously connected to house music by speed, but operates on a much rawer emotional level here, over a droning synth and an aggressively coiling drum pattern with the sound of a pumping heartbeat at the centre. Cha Cha's vocals drift into a sensual pattern as the melody soars beneath her, before confirming the suffocation of love, with Spaceape whispering over her shoulder.
