Art: Sole-Phonic - A Tribute to The Classics
Via Street Arse:
After a year’s hiatus from Manky Chops, Sole returns to serve up a tribute to the old school masters of Soul, Funk, Reggae, Dub, and all that classic goodness. Under the guise of ‘Sole-Phonic’, he launches a new extension to his alias, blending his passion for both music and art.
This latest body of work is inspired by the forefathers & mothers of our modern music culture, and the record cover artworks that accompanied their vinyl 12″ & 7″ inch records. From the soulful depths of Nina Simone & Al Green, the funky grooves of James Brown & Michael Jackson, and the irie vibes of Bob Marley & Lee Scratch Perry.
