AG BIO
(of Showbiz & AG and D.I.T.C.)
Hailing from the birthplace of Hip Hop, AG (aka Andre The Giant) grew up in The Bronx, NY. It was there in the late 80s that he would befriend fellow MC Lord Finesse and future group partner Showbiz. After making an appearance on Finesse's 1990 Showbiz produced track "Back To Back Rhyming", Showbiz and AG would go on to become an official group and in 1992 release their debut EP "Soul Clap". In addition to the party anthem title track, the EP also featured a cut called "Diggin' In The Crates" with all the aforementioned artists as well as an MC named Diamond D.
That same year saw the release of Show & A's first full length album "Runaway Slave" as well as Diamond D's "Stunts, Blunts And Hip Hop". Both albums featured a new recruit from Harlem who was turning heads in ciphers named Big L. The collective of like-minded individuals would be known as Diggin' In The Crates or D.I.T.C. for short which was taken from the Showbiz & AG track of the same name. Fat Joe, O.C. and Buckwild would go on to join the squad making the crew the strongest collection of MCs and producers out. They ruled the 90s with solo releases from all individuals and delivered a group album in 2000.
Show & AG would go on to release "Goodfellas" (1995) and "Full Scale" (1998) before taking a hiatus which would lend to AG venturing off into a solo career. The first solo release would be 1999's "The Dirty Version" followed by 2006's "Get Dirty Radio" which would have the East Coast veteran team up with West Coast producers by the likes of Madlib, Jake One, Oh No and a then LA based J Dilla. The future would see more releases both as a solo artist and as part of Show & AG. Albums like "The Show & A Experience" (2007), "Oasis" with O.C. (2009),"Everything's Berri" (2010) and "Mugshot Music" (2012).
Now in 2014, AG can be found running his Red Apples Forty-Five label with partner and producer Ray West. They've released music from themselves as well as compilations with artists such as Roc Marciano, Kool Keith, O.C. Kurious and the late Party Arty. AG is also preparing for his next solo release "Ambrosia" which will feature many of Hip Hop's best producers and MCs. Always a giant in the mental, AG continues to shine from decade to decade showcasing lyrics that are above and beyond that of his generation or even those of today's newcomers for that matter. Still striving for the better verse, still traveling the world to entertain fans and yes, still diggin'.

After a barnstorming 2013 Fat Freddy’s Drop are back with two brand new 12” singles with re-workings from Theo Parrish, Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris and Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy & Andy Yamwho?.
The first of the set features a vocal and an instrumental translation of ‘Mother Mother’ from Theo Parrish. The Detroit producer and DJ delivers a masterful yet twisted, ten-minute-plus re-wiring of Fat Freddy’s Drop’s soulful, techno-tinged workout. Taken from the New Zealand’s 3rd LP ‘Blackbird’, Gilles Peterson described the original as “an incredible piece of music.”
‘Mother Mother’ gets the four-to-the-floor treatment from Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy & Andy Yamwho? on the A-side to the second 12”. On the flip side is Ashley Beedle & Darren Morris’s cosmic ‘Afrikanz On Marz’ remix of ‘Never Moving’, also lifted from the ‘Blackbird’ LP
