Here's the word from over at Round Trip Mars:
And so the saga begins. We're not fussing about track order and suchlike when it comes to pinging these tracks up for your pre-listening eary delight and download, in fact the one thing you can be sure of is that this won't be the way they're programmed when the album drops in its entirety on December 25th.
Since it was recorded earlier in the year Amateur has been burning a hole in the RTM proverbial pocket, after all the mighty Coco Solid linking up with old duffers Unitone HiFi is a bit of a special treat. Easily offended folks might find this a bit sweary, personally we were concerned it just wasn't sweary enough, we loves them cuss words. It was a surprise that Jess picked out this rhythm from the ones we chucked at her, but she knew what she was doing and as a result it's the most fully vocal tune (that we'll admit to) in the heartical HiFi's decade and a half history.
Big thanks going out to Joost, Chris and Angus for this gem and what about the album artwork we have unleashed at the top of this post…a personal best from Howard Besantron-Matil who was also responsible for many of the early RTM album covers and design bits? …we think it just might be.
Pop in tomorrow for the first 'Hidden Gem' from the RTM back catalogue (it's a corker and has been specially scrubbed for your edification)and check back on Tuesday for the second track to be unleashed from Invaderism. For those not familiar with soundcloud, the little arrow on the left of the player will allow you to download a sparkling 320kbps mp3 but remember each track will only be downloadable for 2 days (after that streaming only) … so snooze and lose!
Welcome aboard.
