The much in demand "Wires" taken from the Eglo compliation CD on a strictly limited edition 12" of 1000 copies, single sided & numbered 12" with inserted gold screen print from Kay Shin.[via FactMag]April witnessed the arrival of Eglo Records Vol. 1 – the first ever compilation released by Shepherd and Alexander Nut’s Eglo Recordings imprint. Scattered throughout the 23-track set were cuts from label regulars Funkineven, Fatima, Mizz Beats and GB. Arguably the biggest draw, however, was Floating Points’ album exclusive ‘Wires’ – a lush, heavily orchestrated 11-minute epic, boasting Hammond organ, some rolling percussion work and trilling woodwind. As befits one of Shepherd’s most ambitious compositions to date, ‘Wires’ will now get a proper 12″ release. The unexpected vinyl pressing will arrive on a one-sided 12″, and also promises a fancy printed gold insert.
