Mount Kimbie - Cold Spring Fault Less Youth (WARP)

Recorded in their South London studio, 'Cold Spring Fault Less Youth' combines the electronic sensibilities of 'Crooks & Lovers' (2010) but sees Mount Kimbie move out of the bedroom and into a professional studio. Dominic Maker and Kai Campos are joined in collaborations on two tracks with King Krule who lends his distinctive, discontented vocals to 'You Took You Time' and 'Meter, Pale, Tone'.

After laying down one of the most inviting and engaging party vibes in recent memory at the re-launch of the NZ Soul All Dayer back in May, your new favourite soul music party returns for a very special winter edition at a brand new downtown Auckland location.

As well as a bespoke selection of DJs armed with treasures recovered from the darkest corners of their extensive record collections, we have a live DJ/PA set all the way from Wellington, courtesy of Chocolate Box - vocalists Lisa Tomlins and Vanessa Stacey alongside DJ Ayesha Kee - providing you with all the sweetness you'll need. Mark Ernestus Presents Jeri-Jeri - 800% LP (NDAGGA)

Jeri-Jeri is the collaboration between the renowned Berlin based producer Mark Ernestus and a griot clan of Sabar drummers from Kaolack in Senegal, led by Bkane Seck, along with guest Mbalax musicians and vocalists - including mainstays of the bands of Baaba Maal, Youssou N'Dour and other top Senegalese artists. 

Aficionados of cutting edge world music and underground dance will have noted Ernestus's remixes of Afrobeat legend Tony Allen and Kinshasa rockers Konono No 1, and his co-compilation (with Honest jon's) of the critically acclaimed Shangaan Electro showcase. On the quiet though, he has become increasingly hooked on Mbalax wih its hyper-vivid Sabar and talking-drum workouts, and ultra-repetative. sick, sequencer-like Marimba synths. In early 2011 he travelled to Senegaland the Gambia in search of original recordings. Through an unlikely set of coincidences, he ended up working in the legendary Dkar studio former known as Xippi, with more than twenty of the findest musicians in the country. 800% Ndagga and Ndagga Versions present the results on two albums, splitting vocals and instrumentals; a masterful style of Mbalax, heady and hard groving, with high complex, fiercely succinct poly-rhythms; an ancient-futuristic music, mesmeric but sharp as nails, super charged with drama

  The brand new album from Warp stalwart Nightmares on Wax is now ready for pre-order. Once described as "the man who can bottle sunshine" Feelin' Good will be released on 16th September.  Pre-orders for 2LP+MP3 or CD via info@conch.co.nz [via xlr8r.com] "Though it's been five years since we've heard from veteran sonic adventurer George Evelyn (a.k.a. Nightmares on Wax), the Warp stalwart has returned with plans to release his next full-length album this fall. Entitled Feelin' Good, the 10-track effort is said to be inspired by Evelyn's time spent living in Ibiza and running his weekly Wax Da Jam residency on the island. The results are said to be a record which attempts to embody the state of "feeling good through positivity and natural beauty, [while] embracing funk, soul, reggae, and a number of other musical references."
